The auction that took place on the 8th September at Woking Golf club was an enormous success. In fact, it was something of a record breaker. With only 15 or so lots including some truly spectacular items such as a week-long holiday on the Dalmatian Coast, the total certainly exceeded expectations. With 100% of the children coming from below the poverty line, often from dysfunctional families or orphaned, over 3,000 children are currently currently receiving assistance and so the overall need is huge. I was delighted to assist especially given my family’s historical connections to the Indian subcontinent and, to be honest, any charity that assists children in any country and at any age is 100% worthwhile.
